Birmingham Rock Garden
Our clients Edwardian home in a leafy part of Birmingham was undergoing significant renovation.
We were commissioned to help realise a new vision for this large gardens which included the remnants of an imposing rockery.
Our design includes a new in-out gravel driveway with structural and scented planting to create a sense of welcome but also to provide privacy and screen the busy road.
Bi-fold doors open out onto a new terrace stretching across the rear of the home leading to a sheltered cosy corner for late evenings decorated with patterned tiles. Shade style planting sits against this north facing space.
A pathway leads on a journey down the garden to a series of terraces re-using the existing large boulders and stones with an intimate bistro terrace for morning coffee half way up.
Climbing the steps of the terraces leads to a new upper garden that was a previously under utilised space. This area includes a new covered decking area for views back toward the house and to watch the children playing.
Our clients will be working with their contractors to implement the design in the coming months.
The work was carried out professionally and to a high quality. This was a total transformation of the garden and completely met my expectations.
The garden is now much easier to maintain whilst still being really colourful with a variety of plants and good for bees and other insects.
