Birmingham Terraced Garden
We were commissioned by our clients to re-design the existing garden of this inter-war period property in Birmingham.
Our clients have invested in renovating the property and wished to focus on the garden which had become a little ’tired’.
Our clients ambition is for a garden inspired by both Islamic and Cottage style gardens.
With a significant change in levels from the rear of the house to the bottom of the garden the project involved the replacement of existing retaining walls and the creation of a new terrace and pathways.
The garden has a formal quadrant style layout with clipped hedging and a central water feature.
The planting includes four different varieties of English Roses within the quadrants to provide scent and colour and is underplanted with cottage favourites.
The upper terraces include a palette of silvers, blue and purple hues, yellows and terracotta’s. The colour is highlighted against the white walls in these sunny south facing borders.
