‘The Bee’s Knees’ – RHS Malvern Spring Festival 2015

RHS Silver-Gilt medal for the ‘The Bees Knees’ supporting the Bumblebee Conservation Trust at the RHS Malvern Spring Festival 2015.

We proudly exhibited at the RHS Malvern Spring Festival 2015 presenting ‘The Bees Knees’ and winning a Silver Gilt plus runner up in ‘The People’s Choice Award: Best Show Garden’.

The garden received excellent coverage on BBC Gardeners World and lovely praise from presenter Monty Don. We were also very excited to welcome the talented chef Raymond Blanc and presenter Greg Wallace onto the garden.

The Bees Knees is designed for a beekeeper and is inspired by the plight of our bees. A hexagonal honeycomb pathway winds toward the garden room, a space that represents a ‘hive of activity’ as well as an area to sit, relax and view foraging bees.

The eye is drawn over geometric flower beds towards a striking contemporary bee sculpture. The planting includes native hedging, fruit trees, perennials and wild flowers, each chosen for its attraction and benefit to bees and pollinators. Raised hexagonal beds of herbs remind us of the connection between bees and the food on our tables.
